Data Session
Monitor and store all serial port traffic
Data Session
Since version 1.6.0 of SerialTool, the Data Session has been introduced. The data session allows you to keep a history of all packets sent and received from all active serial ports.
This typical function, found in all professional software, allows you to recall each individual packet, analyze it, export it, and search for specific strings in ASCII or hexadecimal.
When a packet is analyzed, all the essential information about that packet and the time between the previous and next packet are provided.
Serial Port Data Packet Analysis
The Data Session is also useful because it offers the possibility to analyze the packets of the serial communication from a certain point forward or backward. The Data Session consists of a FIFO which is fixed and unchangeable for the free version of SerialTool. The PRO version enables a larger FIFO.A greater reference to the size of the FIFO is available on the comparison table between the free and PRO versions of SerialTool.
Thanks to the Data Session, SerialTool is on average 40% faster than previous versions and even if the Console Terminal or the Hexadecimal Terminal are cleared, it will always be possible to recover the stored data.
Some information or images contained in this page may vary from the current version of SerialTool due to the constant improvements made to the software.
